How to customize your blog on blogger?

So you are a blogger now. Are you? As you have created your first post in the last post where you have learnt How to Start a Blog on Blogger (for free). I know the blog which you have created through our last video tutorial was not looking so good and attractive. After reading this post you will be able to see your blogger’s blog in a new avatar. You will learn how to customize the blogger blog with free blogger themes and templates.

In the previous post, we have learnt to create a free blog on blogger. Now it is the time do something magical with your existing blog and customize it.

Visit the layout section To customize your blog, you need to go to the Layout Tab on the blogger’s dashboard that is lying on the down left of the dashboard. You can see it in the picture shown below.

Click on Template Designer After entering the layout section, you will see a lot of options. But you need to click on the Template Designer link that is on the top right. Check out the image below and see the link of the template designer. When you click on this link you will be redirected to the blogger template designer where you can paint your blog with your hands.

Select the Design of your blog There are a lot many designs from which you can choose one design for your blog. You can have choices of Simple view, Dynamic views, picture window, Awesome Inc., Watermark, Ethereal and Travel. Test here and choose the one you like and you think is apt for your niche.

Choose a background Click on the Background tab on the top left. You will see a lot of background options. From here you can select the background for your blog. Here Blogspot gives you a lot of background options such as abstract, business, celebrations, nature, patterns, science, recreation, travel and many more. Choose the one that you liked the most and apply on your blog.

Adjust the widths In this step you can adjust the widths of your entire blog. You can extend the blog width to full or can be left the margins on both sides. You can also adjust the width of the   Here is a slider which you can see in the image right below. This option lets you full freedom to set the blog and sidebar width.

Select the Layout There is an option named Layout below Adjust Widths. From here you can select the layout of the blog. There are various layouts from which you can select one according to you. In the same place, you can select the footer layout. This is the general layout and from here you can also manage your whole blog after deciding the general layout. You can adjust the plugins, widgets and gadgets from here by the simple drag and drop.

Advanced Settings You can set up advanced settings for your blog from the tab advanced below the Layout. From here you can select the colour of your choice for fonts, header, background. You can change the font, size and colour of each section such as Title, description, links, footer, sidebar, widgets and many more. You can also add your custom CSS to adjust the blog according to you.
